OUR HISTORY

Island Truss has been supplying roof trusses to builders on Vancouver Island since the late 1970s. The company was purchased in 1983 by Jim Barclay, whose commitment to high-quality materials and workmanship, team effort, and customer satisfaction established Island Truss as the Comox Valley’s most trusted supplier of roof trusses.

Island Truss began with 10 employees, and in the past 3 decades has more than doubled in size. Now with a staff of over 25 employees (some of whom have been with the company for over 20 years), the company serves even more Vancouver Island communities including mid and north Vancouver Island, and surrounding Gulf Islands. In addition to floor and roof trusses, Island Truss has expanded its product line to include LVL beams and I-joists.

Although Jim Barclay passed away in 2009, Island Truss continues to be a family owned and operated business and maintains the same high standards for quality that earned it its reputation amongst Vancouver Island builders, contractors and developers.
